Kagome Higurashi is a modern aged girl, who happened to be thrown into an old well on her 15th birthday. She has no clue that she is the reincarnation of a very powerful priestess named Kikyo. Her hidden powers always seem to help her whenever she's in danger. She met InuYasha when he was stuck to a tree by an arrow for eternal sleep that Kikyo had cast upon him. She resembles Kikyo in a lot of ways, and yet not in a lot of ways. Kagome was the one who shattered the jewel while trying to save a boy. And now she has to help InuYasha find the shards and turn back the shikon jewel back to it's normal form.
Shippo is a young fox child that met InuYasha and Kagome by trying to get revenge on the demons that killed his father. He may be small, but he has lots of tricks up his sleeves and often likes to be sneaky. He thinks of Kagome as a mother or a sister because she protects him in a lot of ways. Shippo often gets into fights with InuYasha because they tease each other and like to fight over food. Shippo can be helpful sometimes when he doesn't know it.
Miroku is a monk in the feudal era. He loves to drink and womanize. He's one of your sweet-looking guy, but he's a pervert. His goal is to go after Naraku because Naraku cursed his family with a void on their right hands. Although, it is a curse, Miroku can use it to protect him and his loved ones. He calls this attack the "Wind Tunnel". Even if he is a pervert, he's a smart guy. He hopes that one day before he dies, he can have a child so his child would carry on to defeat Naraku.
Sango is a demon slayer. She's a sweet caring person who liked to look after her little brother, Kohaku. There was a time when Naraku came to her village and killed everyone by controlling her little brother. Now she wants revenge on Naraku and wants to get back her little brother who is now controlled by Naraku and has lost all his memories. Sango joins InuYasha, Kagome, Shippo and Miroku to go after Naraku and bring him down. She has fallen for a certain monk and doesn't admit it. She gets annoyed when he does something perverted to her and she slaps him. She hopes that one day she will kill Naraku
